Long wait @ the airport!!

Long wait at the airport...

Its really a great thing that these days you can do anything using your smartphone. So if you are not smart enough then no regrets. Now today Ishika is going for a holiday… no not a foreign trip or so, she is going to visit her home-town. She reached the airport 4 hours prior to her flight. Pretty boring!!

It was her last day with her current job as she wanted to take a break so she quits. Few days of oxygen, the much needed break. All set to enjoy the next few days. Lot of plans are already made. Meeting old friends, shopping, eating favorite food by mom and add a lot of calories. To top the list a week of peaceful sleep.

Finally bags are checked, boarding pass is taken and security check is done. Here again the smartphone comes into picture. Last day emails, phone calls and saying goodbye to all. Although it was a choice to leave the job, still last day she was feeling emotional. Ishika is emotional but no one knows it. She wanted to hug everyone before leaving but she did not. She promised herself she will come back and again fight for her life and her dreams.

Dreams !! yeah… Mumbai is a city of dreams, many dreamers come here to chase their dreams.  Today this city had taught her to be independent to take decisions and listen to her heart. So she is going to take the much needed break and go on a holiday. It does not matter to her today if she is right or wrong (rationally) but she is happy to follow her heart.

Ishika called her family to assure that she reached safely to airport (Bong Moms!!) then called her cousin to come to pick her from the Kolkata airport.

Still a long wait and meanwhile some facebook, whatsapp, instagram and slefies. Ishika was badly getting bored, so thought of calling her mother till she catches her flight. So just in the middle of phone call she screams “Oh my God” … yes the reason is really big for her. The famous song writer, composer Mr. Anupam Roy was buying something from an outlet there near the gate no. 23. She was so damn eager to speak to him, ask about his inspiration etc but, her mom kept on chatting and by time she hung Mr. Roy disappeared from the store.

Heart broken!! Yes thats the right word. She still had hopes to see him as a co-passenger but that did not happen.

But her excitement was reaching its heights and again started planning about the next few days, meeting friends. All her friends were also super excited to meet her after long time. Her disappointment disappeared by the love and affection of her family and friends who were also counting days to meet her. Most importantly the wait of her mother, no one can match that love. In some time the boarding call for her flight was announced and now its time to go home.

the first love

This is a story of a very common and simple girl. I am sure we all go through this stage in our lives. So this is how it starts. She was just 12 or 13… and yes the right age of to fall in love, isn't it? We the 80’s kids can related to this quite closely I feel cause we have experienced the change, the evolution of science, technology and love.
Yes evolution of love. Now I guess people do not have the time to fall in love. Moreover busy to beat the competitors to survive and get a better life. But even in the suburbs of our country are still allowing you to go through the best phases of life. If you belong to a small town or a village like me you will surely agree.

So here I introduce my little lover girl Raushni. Just like the name she was a spark of light. No not a fair or beautiful girl, but with a beautiful smile. Yes that's all she had. She had no fashion sense as her peers had, She had no boyfriends in fact, she was mostly unnoticed as she was not a beautiful girl. She was dark, fat and short. Her classmates, friends all made fun of her look so even she preferred to remain unnoticed. But love noticed her, as she was growing and getting closer to teenage, bollywood films and link ups by classmates made her fall in love. Yes she started experiencing the most beautiful feeling of first love. Raushni was turning brighter and brighter with time and fell deeply in love.

Like her friends she also wanted to enjoy the feel of being in love, she also wanted to experience the attention from her crush. The first crush of her life “Rahul Shukla”. Raushni’s dad used to work with a Govt. farm so as the guys father. But the hunk was a senior and was in college so now the challenge was to convey that she likes him. But how!!??
She had friend, a neighbor who was her all time buddy, so one fine day she expressed her feelings about the guy to her buddy the savior. Now they finally decided to write a love letter. No exaggeration, she really wrote her first love letter after at least a 87 drafts.

Dear ……..,

I just want to be friends with you… can I?

Regards & “Love”
Raushni

“Love”, she must read the word in the letter ennumber of times and hoped he must also read the note with same passion that she felt. One fine summer evening her savior, the buddy took her along and handed over her “first love letter”.

Thats the moment… it really did not matter whether she will get a reply or not. If he will say yes or not, it was the first feeling of love. Nothing in life can be more beautiful than this. One may fall in love in a mature age, make love, get married or whatever. But first love is just out of the world.

Then with time their cute little love started to grow. When she used to go to school by bus he used to come to closest store with some excuse just for a glance. This was the best time of the day. Both eagerly used to wait for the glance of each other’s love.

They never met in a park or went for movie but still there was a connect, an invisible bond which Raushni’s smart friends did not have.

Now she was in a relationship, was in love. But with time she had to join college in Kolkata and got through a well known college, but she was really upset. Finally she found a way to keep in touch with her man and that is phone call. The trend of mobile phones were still not so common so it used to be blind tries on landline and expect to hear Rahul’s voice.

But things did not remain so sweet for them and Rahul’s father came to know about this and strictly instructed him to get out this. Their families do not encourage love marriage or inter cast marriage. She called Rahul once and he said he will call back.

But her wait never ended, she finished her college, started working, post graduation and then a new job life. Still the call is waited…. no Rahul did not call back anymore, he did not say a goodbye, did not state a reason to leave her alone. He just kept her waiting.

Now almost 13 years have passed, Rahul is a husband, a father now but Raushni still brightening others and waiting for her Rahul to make that call.

She knows her wait is endless.
